Best Auto Repair Shops in Detroit & Metro Detroit: 10 Trusted Mechanics for 2026

Choosing an auto repair shop is easier when you have more than a star rating to go on. Detroit Found reviewed current local business profiles, customer-feedback depth, ratings, location, and current 2026 Detroit-area repair rankings to build this list of strong shops across Detroit and Metro Detroit. This is not a pay-to-rank list. We included a mix of Detroit city shops and highly reviewed independents around the metro area so drivers can compare proximity, reputation, and shop style. A shop that is best for routine maintenance may not be the same shop you choose for difficult diagnostics or a major repair. Before authorizing expensive work, ask for a written estimate, diagnostic findings, parts and labor warranty, whether parts are OEM or aftermarket, and whether additional work requires approval first. For major repairs, a second diagnostic opinion can be worth the extra visit. Every shop below links to its Detroit Found listing. Updated October 2026.
